How to Care for Your Eyelashes

How to Care for Your Eyelashes

As you get older, your eyelashes tend to get thinner and more brittle. However, you can prevent this by really looking after your eyelashes. Here are a couple of quick tips on how to take care of your eyelashes. Brush your eyelashes at the end of everyday with an eyelash brush. Dip the brush lightly in warm olive or castor oil first.

How to Care for Your Eyelashes

This will help to strengthen your eyelashes. One of the anti-aging products you never hear much about is eyelash conditioner. Everyone has wished they had long, thick, beautiful eyelashes at one time or another. Even if you were born with them naturally, the eyelashes do tend to become thinner as you age. Aging weakens the hair follicles and makes the eyelashes brittle, but a good eyelash conditioner nourishes the roots and achieves significantly longer, fuller, and thicker eyelashes.

If you do this regularly, it helps to get your silky, healthy eyelashes. Make sure you remove your makeup properly each day. This is a biggie, because so many people just let their eyemakeup ‘wear off’ during the day. Nope, you’ve got to remove it carefully and moisturise your skin.

Here’s a good way to remove eye makeup, especially mascara. Use a plant oil (like olive or castor oil.) Moisturise the skin around your eyes gently. Afterwards, use the oil to gently remove your mascara.

Groom your Eyelashes Properly: Like any other body part eyelashes require proper care and attention. For silky, thick and healthy eyelashes you need to groom them properly.

Eyelash grooming starts with brushing your eyelashes at least twice a day. Special eyelash brushes are available in the market. In case you don’t find eyelash brush then you can use your mascara brush. Before brushing your eyelashes oil the eyelash brush with warm olive oil or castor oil.

This will enhance the growth of eyelashes as well as make them softer and thicker. You can even use rose oil or burdock oil for this purpose. Regular brushing and application of oil ensures healthy and silky growth of eyelashes.

How to Get Rid of Dark Circles Under Your Eyes

This is a fairly common problem. There are many causes: tiredness, stress, allergies, sickness, old age, and some people just naturally have these dark rings.

The skin under our eyes is very thin and sensitive. Thus, it can easily get affected by the conditions above.

Some remedies

  • Sleep well.
  • Drink lots of water!
  • Try a concealer blended in to even out your skin tones under your eyes.
  • Make sure you have a healthy diet, with good nutrition, vitamins and iron.
  • Try a detox treatment. This is good for so many things, included dark rings. Having a fruit or vege smoothie each morning has also been recommended me by friends who were into Ayurveda (an ancient Indian medical science.)
  • Pilates can be a great way to decrease stress and increase blood circulation. Healthy blood circulation can help reduce dark rings under your eyes.
  • And a combination of the above remedies will definitely improve your life quality as well as your skin tone.

How to Beat the Cold and Still Look Glamorous

Firstly, it’s bad enough feeling bad from a cold, without having to look bad. (Or feel like you’re looking bad.) So here are some tips on how to look great, even when you feel like your head is stuffed with cotton wool, your nose is running and your eyes are sore.

Firstly, if you’ve got a cold, you’re going to be blowing your nose a lot. So don’t put on much foundation. If you do, you’ll just get bare patches where the powder’s been rubbed off. Not a good look.

Try some eyedrops just to soothe your eyes. Watery swollen eyes aren’t that attractive. Added to that, some soothing eye cream on the skin around your eyes will help.

A little bit of a glow will make you look healthy. Try a little bit of bronzer or light blush. Mascara can be great for tired eyes. Go a little easy on the eyeliner though, just a stroke or two is fine. After all, you might be still rubbing your eyes.

If you want to stay pale and interesting, go for some vibrant lipstick. A pink or red lipstick can actually play up your skin tones. And when you’ve done what you’ve got to do out in the world, try a soothing facial and moisturize to replenish your tired skin.
